Minimum wage in Georgia is 7.25 an hour, a person making minimum wage working one hour cannot buy one pound of hamburger. God help us.
Yes I go through the grocery store adding up each item to make sure I can buy it. I don’t have enough money but I’m grateful for what I can get.
I can remember back in 1962 when a shopping cart full of groceries costed $30.00.
I’m 75 and I remember when you got a completely new license plate for your car every year, and it cost less then $10. Then they came up with this little sticker claiming how it would save money. Well they still make you get this little sticker every years but it’s 100s of dollars for this little sticker. Doesn’t matter whether the Democrats or the Republicans are in power, the price goes up on everything year after year. All I ever see is paying more while the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, and we continually watch our individual rights become less.
2010: One job, 40hrs a week, $13 an hour, rent, car payment, and money left over.
2026: Two jobs, 50hrs a week, $12 an hour, rent, no car, no car payment/insurance, need a 2nd job to pay the “bare minimum”w/o groceries.
And it’s gonna get MUCH MUCH WORSE. This current situation is cake compared to what’s coming.
All the above statements are quotes from people. I have found these quotes on many different web pages across the Internet. They are from average everyday folks. It seems to me that a lot of people are becoming very discouraged with the way Life is going these days.
