I Love Drumsticks Ice Cream Cones…

That is what I am going to do right now. Having had a great lunch of a chicken sandwich with some spinach and peaches and a little yogurt (Have to watch those electrolytes, you know), it is not time to retire to the kitchen, grab my friend Jim and drag him to the kitchen table so we can both eat a yummy “Drumstick ice cream cone, with vanilla ice cream dipped in melted chocolate and covered with crushed peanuts — nothing like it in the whole world and I have been eating them since I was just a kid…..almost back before civilization began.

Following that, if I am still here bodily, I will return to this keyboard to tantalize, amaze and entertain you all with more of my phantasmagoric intellectualism that sometimes rivals the flow of the fabled “Akashic” River….so be prepared to receive the indisputable wisdom, charm and what have you coming your way and it is all free of charge, my friend, it is all free of charge because I am probably one of the most generous human beings that has ever drawn the breath of life…..and one of the most humble also, I must add. Besides which, I have to take a break and wash my fungal infested toenails and apply the magic lacquer that is supposed to defeat this torment from hell in a couple of months from now.

It is now 4:51 pm and I am getting ready to go into the living room and watch Judge Judy with Jimmy— we watch her as often as we can ….My back was itching me his morning but after showering the itch stopped …that is something new for me …but I am not sweating it at this point…it seems like i have turned 88 years of age, I am experiencing a lot more interesting and new sensations that I ever did before…some strange…some expected ….most tolerable.

My arms are starting to look like a cartographic map of some kind because of all the bruises that I got when they were sticking me with intravenous needles and stuff at the hospital and, of course, since i am taking a blood thinner every time I brush too hard against an object, there is a bruise …but it only lasts for a few days and the the arm or hand or whatever returns more or less to normal….but I have to admit, I am not the freshly-minted-looking man that I once was ….but I do not seem to have facial wrinkles of any significance yet– is this too much information?

This afib thing has been a horror recently — I spent some time in intensive care (About two days) and then when I got released to go home, it wasn’t but a short while before I had to return to the emergency room twice on two different occasions so they could stabilize me and slow the heart down a bit …It was somewhat frightening, but right now all my activities, including my street ministry have been put on hold until I can get myself a little more stable. I even bought myself a personal portable heart monitor so I can watch the rate and be warned if another out of control afib attack happens. At this time, it is all going good but I sometimes feel like a ticking time bomb and while it is not a comfortable feeling, I do have The Peace of God that passes all understanding because of my Savior, Jesus Christ for which I am more grateful than I can ever explain.

I am hearing horror stories on the television set about conditions on the United States military ship named, “Abraham Lincoln”and that is giving me some pause…I will have to learn more about this before I can really leave a meaningful comment…I cannot imagine what might have happened aboard ship to garner media attention, so I will have to wait awhile and dig a little deeper. But I have to admit that I am somewhat disturbed by any possibility that conditions for our service men and women would be less than ideal because they have always had the best as I recall….I served for 7 years and 3 months active duty and I never had any complaints about food or conditions at all because back then the military took good care of us– I know nothing right

Wella, Wella, Wella—

My heart sank and my spine grew cold when I tried to start my computer this afternoon and it kept telling me that I am off line. Come to find out I was off line alright but it was because my computer had become disconnected from the Internet Service Device when I was moving it around this morning. Thank You, Lord!

I also paid all my bills this morning but I am still worrying about two ambulance trips to the emergency room when I had a couple of afib attacks– the ambulances around here won’t take me to the VA hospital, of course, they always take me to the closest civilian hospital which means that I might be looking at Ten Thousand dollars for the two emergency room bills…But the last time this happened to me, the VA did pay it for me … we shall see…of course, it is something to worry about….except that I have faith in God and I know that My God will make a way for me.

The other thing that is bugging me today is that the cardiologist wants me to think about wearing a cpap mask — I hate the idea …my relatives who used them all hate them ….I am hoping there is a way out of that which will not endanger my health any more than it is already with the arrhythmias— the arrhythmias that seem to be well controlled now with a medication…..we shall see.

Oh there are all kinds of things I could complain about this afternoon ….. the rain has come and has been steady all day — flood warnings are out for some of the surrounding areas but than goodness we are located on high ground and so a flood is the least of our worries, but we have been hearing some tornado sirens going off this week…. but again, we live in a river valley (On the high edge of a river valley) so most of the tornadoes seem to jump right over us whenever they form. That is a good thing.

My friend, Jimmy, made creamed chicken on biscuits for our lunch today– not bad– hadn’t had that item for a few years …. I can remember when it was a staple meal for a working class family– that and something called Chipped Beef on Toast) which also had a military-derived name (S.O.S.) which is nasty to say….a lot of people will know what I am talking about. But I am going to be courteous today and not talk some of the stuff that I normally talk.

Well folks, it is time for my afternoon nap…from now until Judge Judy” comes on the television set….and then it is off to the evening hours….We have been watching a series about Jesus called “Chosen” which I have found to be fascinating.

Snore time now.

Toodles!~

Remember, Remember, Remember!

Do you need to stir up the spirit of hatred in your heart this morning so that you can walk more righteously among your fellow man? Here are some examples of how you might do that if you are so inclined:

  • Remember the Alamo — 1836
  • Remember the Maine — 1898
  • Remember the Lusitania — 1915
  • Remember Pearl Harbor — 1941
  • Remember Bataan — 1942
  • Remember Wake Island — 1941–1945
  • Remember the USS Pueblo — 1968
  • Remember the Mayaguez — 1975
  • Remember the Iran Hostage Crisis — 1979–1981
  • Remember Beirut — 1983
  • Remember Pan Am 103 — 1988
  • Remember the USS Cole — 2000
  • Remember September 11 / Never Forget — 2001
  • Boston Massacre — 1770
  • Lexington and Concord — 1775
  • Burning of Washington — 1814
  • Fort Sumter — 1861

And so….we “Remember.” So what good does it do to stir all this up again? All it does is make people feel a twinge of hate in their hearts and I can tell you that there is plenty enough hate in the world already without indulging our sensibilities in creating more of it.

Besides which, we can “Remember” all these things but there isn’t a blessed thing we can do as individuals to make it all better…. what’s done is done and the past cannot be resurrected in order to correct what went before.

Dwelling on unfortunate past events is a waste of time, is chronically unproductive and does nothing to change anything.

Sometimes…

Sometimes I believe that sleep is a great way to escape the cares of the world.

Since reading some new blog entries by a relatively intelligent individual, I have come to the conclusion that there is a conspiracy underlying every modern advancement.

The good thing about blogging is that you can shut any of the blogs off that piss you off.

I will never believe anything other than that Covid 19 was real, that Dr. Faucci saved perhaps hundreds of thousands of lives and that the solutions to the covid crisis offered by the conspiracy theorists probably were responsible for many many deaths. I am so glad I never took a shot of household bleach when I had Covid

Well then, Let’s See What’s Up!

I have spent two days in intensive care at the VA hospital this past week for afib problems and then, later, two more trips to the emergency room for the same kind of thing. I am feeling better today and I was discharged as stable and able to return home without further hospitalization.

So I am looking forward to going to the VA campus to attend a class given by the sleep clinic because my doctors believe that it might be sleep apnea driving some of my afib problem. I will be damned if I am going to wear a CPAP machine because they are claustrophobic, difficult to handle and to maintain and I have to get up three or four time per night to go to the bathroom, so there will be all that strapping and unstrapping and I am not ready for that.

I am over all the CDIF symptoms now and what is left of me from that ordeal seems to have been resolved (For the time being anyway) and I can now eat what ever I like with no problems and everything in that department has resolved to more or less normal for a man my advanced age.

I did manage to get some cellulitis infection in my right foot (which swelled and got red and hot and tender) and so I took intravenous antibiotics for that and it too is resolving well…. it is still swelled and will remain so for a couple of more weeks while the tissue that was damaged in the foot heals but the pain is gone and the threat is gone and that is a good thing.

We had tornado warnings here a few days ago but only a hard rain and some wind — not too much wind — but some wind — and the whole thing settled down and all is well right now.

I have rediscovered something absolutely intriguing ….it is the Blog by Insaner Thought called —THE DAILY AGITATOR — and it is probably the most interesting commentary that I have ever read and I hope that everybody who has any feelings at all about America, Patriotism or Freedom takes the time to visit THE DAILY AGITATOR. It is bright, informative, challenging, interesting, everything a commentary should be and more. I believe you are going to like it! I sure as hell do!
