Saurday Evening 8/22/26

I cut up some fried bologna into my scrambled eggs and some sauteed chopped onion and rediscovered something that I had done so many years ago now it is hard for me to remember when– and it was delicious — just as I had remembered it.

I also discovered that a cheaper version of chipped beef over toast can be made by frying some thicker slices of bologna and cutting them into small bites and putting them into a thick white gravy made from cream of chicken soup, milk and salt and pepper. Cheap and good.

The weather here has been good today — not too hot, not too cold…no rain today–but the flowers in our expansive back acre are taking over the place along with the massive amounts of birds and butterflies and it all makes a person feel so damned good….almost hate to see Fall coming but it is in the air if you are sensitive enough to smell the subtle atmosphere changes that are taking place.

I found out today that our local Uber Cab company practices “Dynamic Pricing” which means that if you ride with them you get charged on a sliding scale that is paired to the demand for their services at any given time of the day. But I still prefer them to ordinary taxi companies because the local yokel cab company around here where I live are too damned independent and unreliable. They sometimes arrive late or not at all….some of their drivers take the longest possible route to destinations to soak customers for more money… I have had that happen to me a number of times so I know what I am talking about.

I have started painting again but this time around I have departed from my obsession with surrealism and am trying something called “Raw Art.” Raw Art is totally undisciplined and works primarily on the impulses of the artist who paints in strokes that are not planned but are spontaneous….like the following example that I recently completed:

THIS IS A FACSIMILE OF THE PAINTING I DID AND IS AI GENERATED AND IS NOT 100 PERCENT ACCURATE BUT GIVES THE ACCURATE GENERAL IMPRESSION OF WHAT I DID.

Do not ask me the title of this picture because I haven’t given it one yet. The medium is acrylic on canvas board and the size is 16″ x 20″ — and the price– well I haven’t decided on a price just yet but most of my work goes for $250.00 in this size and up. The frame which is purchased from a local hobby shop is the most expensive part of the project from my standpoint…not regarding the labor time. I am thinking that since this is the first one of this kind that I have done, it will probably not be for sale.

Well folks, it is time for this chicken to fly up to roost. That is what my Daddy used to say when it was time to go to bed, “Well, let’s go to roost.” He had been raised on a farm, which I think should be somewhat obvious.
