The better question is “Will all kinds of rising prices force people out of their homes?” and, if we are talking about people on limited incomes, then the answer has to be an unqualified “Yes.” But what is to be done? Nothing apparently because so far, I have not seen evidence of governments, national or local, being willing to cut or curtail any demands for property tax increases in favor of struggling home owners. So your guess is as good as mine.
Maybe it is time for all of us to consider asking the government to build a titanic “Poor Farm” to feed and house the thousands of people who will be dispossessed by unregulated, unfettered and run-away increases in the price of everything from postage stamps to poop paper.
Your current government doesn’t seem to care that you have many working people living in their cars because they cannot afford rent. And there is little evidence of any action being taken to remedy that. So I agree with you that the situation is undoubtedly only going to get much worse.
Best wishes, Pete.
