Of Art, Anchors, and the Passage of Time: Reflections of an Incurable Creative

Gone is where the days all went — if “Gone” is a place — then that is where they are now. I have never been to “Gone” myself but I am sure it is a beautiful place.

A mummy wrapped in cellophane or plastic wrap might have had a better chance of maintaining its original looks than with all those papyrus wrappings and I am sure that somewhere along the way, some Egyptians living today are probably wishing the Pharoahs had known about pouring liquid acrylic on things to preserve them. Five years ago, I took some fallen leaves from the trees outside and pasted them onto an artists’ canvas panel which I had pre-painted with acrylics to create a nice deep burnt sienna background. Afterward, I painted several layers of clear acrylic over the entire canvas, leaves and all and those leaves appear as fresh today as the day they were gathered. It is in a nice dark brown modern wooden frame and is one of my “Not For Sale” pieces.

This piece draws a lot of attention when visitors come and even though it is not for sale now, if ever it becomes a for-sale item, it will carry a price tag of Two Hundred, Fifty Dollars.

There are other pieces in my collection that I am proud of that I have painted over the years. Among them, my “Three Noses On A Plate.”

This one would carry a price tag of Fifteen Hundred Dollars. But it too is not for sale at this time.

And then there is my absolute favorite:

Again not for sale at this time.

I have not painted in some time and do not seem to be inclined to do any more of it at present…In fact, I am not sure what my hobby would be now if I had one…. I am entertaining the idea of getting some bitcoin …It seems to be stable enough for some venturing right now … in my opinion, anyway. Not that I need the money … I definitely do not need the money. I would just like to see how it all works out. I am a very curious individual if nothing else.

I don’t know if I mentioned it or not, but I have included “Wasa” bread in my diet and I am pleased with it. It is something like a Jewish Motza Bread but not quite– It is a cross between soft bread and a cracker and is great with huumus on it or peanut butter or actual butter or just by itself. I think it would be excellent for dipping into some roast lamb and gravy as a sop meal like the disciples of Christ may have shared. I think I am going to give this a try real soon now. I love to experiment with food. Lately I have been exploring Halal food and it is not all that bad for me. In fact, I like some of it. Among other things that have intrigued me lately have been whole dried figs, raisins, dates, blueberries and garabanzo beans, huumus, — all of which I have added to my daily diet.

The weather here has been hellish — but then it is hellish in many parts of the country right now…as I had predicted…We may see my prophetic utterance of 120-degree temperatures yet — the raging wildfires that I had prophesied are raging as I had predicted … and they will get worse…. but we will not hear that much about them in the Main Stream Media because I believe the fire fighters needed to contain these kinds of things have been cut way back by the government, so I think this is going to be a season of unimaginable property loss, kind of like the President seems to be fond of pointing out, “Like has never been seen before.”

This mess is going to get to be more than we can handle I am afraid and I prophesy that it is going to get a lot worse before it gets any better. Mark my words and give me the credit when what I am saying actually comes to pass.
